HOWARD TWEEDIE
Born in Penang, Malaysia from Scots and Australian heritage, HowardArthur Tweedie works mainly in oils, pastels and tempera –particularly in plein-air landscape, portrait and figure studies. After four year’s formal studies in Australia, France and Spain, he has exhibited widely in prestigious art prizes and group shows in N America, Europe and Australia. His work combines contemporary neo-post-impressionist realism, with a love of colour and solid and expressive gestural drawing. He has been lucky enough to have had two solo shows in Australia with group shows in eg the UK, Canada and Italy. Highlights include being a finalist in the Mosman and Percival art prizes, as well as a semi-finalist in the Moran and selected for the ModPortrait 2020 and 2021.
