Maria Ramos has been drawn to painting from a very early age. She grew up in Spain, and then after University started a career in Banking, first in Paris and then in London.
During her time in Paris, she met a few local painters and got immersed and influenced by that “joie de vivre” and love for art . It really was everywhere … she could not wait to have her own studio and really produce her own pieces of art.
Life made things happened, and she moved to Australia in 2005 , where she combined a full time career in Corporate Finance with studies in oil paint and doing few commissions for friends and colleagues, when time permitted.
Back in 2011 Maria held a private solo exhibition, which was a great experience and produce some good sales.
She has recently entered the Rotary Art show in Feb 23 where she was honoured to receive the “people’s choice award” for one of her paintings.
Maria is quite versatile in her art, and likes to create pieces that adapt to her customer’s style and taste. It gives her great satisfaction to create meaningful pieces that can add that special value in people’s homes.
When painting freely, Maria will likely choose vibrant colours and texture. She finds flowers as the greatest source of inspiration in her colour choices and shapes. There is always such magic in nature, it is a great feeling of joy to transport that colour to an initial white canvas and watch the transformation.
