Kaaren Koomen AM
Kaaren Koomen AM grew up in the Pittwater area of Sydney Kaaren and developed a deep fascination with the Australian bush landscape, and was always mesmerized by the myriad of colours hidden within the gumtrees and brilliant waters of Pittwater as the light of each day changed.
Kaaren started painting at a young age but this took a back seat for many years in the interests of a career in law and IT, travel, raising two wonderful children and running ‘Tigrah’, a cattle farm north of Gloucester NSW.
Kaaren’s recent work focuses on the ever-changing light and the elegance, richness and incredible range of colour within the Australian bushland, beaches and waterways.
Kaaren has undertaken some study at the Julian Ashton Art School and the Wollarah Art Group. Kaaren’s exhibited at various events including ‘Artists of Mosman’ Mosman Art Gallery (2018), the Ashrei Art Prize (2018), ‘Art at the Rowers Acquisitive Exhibition’ (2022), Mosman Art Society ‘Future Perfect’ Exhibition at the Mosman Art Gallery (2022) as well as Tigrah Gallery Opening Exhibition (2021).
In 2020 Kaaren also established the Sirius Cove Artists Group, focusing on the surrounds of the historic Sirius Cove area.
