Margot Freimann.
Born in Melbourne and grew up in Adelaide. I’ve always loved to paint. As someone said, “it’s a journey of discovery, you never cease to enjoy”. So after deciding Commercial Art was to be my career, I enrolled in the Adelaide School of Arts.
Happily my husband Robert was a graduate of the Los Angeles Art Centre, and influenced and encouraged me in my Artistic endeavours. Whilst raising our daughter Kim, we spent many years travelling in the USA and Europe with my husband’s business career, built a Holiday Resort on the South Coast of NSW, and the Hospitality industry was my career. Painting now plays a major part in my life… it is both a pleasure and a challenge.
In my teens Leonard Long introduced me to Landscape painting. I then studied portraiture with Yve Close and Joshua Smith at their Lane Cove Art School. Later enrolled with the Royal Art Society, and studied with Alan Hansen, Judy Pennyfather, Alan Sommerville and Nafisia Naomi after which I enjoyed studying at The Julian Ashton Art School, Mosman.
I am currently an exhibiting member of the Mosman Art Society, Royal Art Society, and did exhibit with The Portrait Artists of Australia. Over the years I have had the pleasure of painting many interesting and fascinating people.
