I've always enjoyed and loved art, it being one of the subjects which I took in school, often scoring good credits and distinctions. However, my chosen career as a PA secretary and another more absorbing hobby of competitive ballroom dancing left me little time to devote to art. My interest in art was re-ignited while I was cruising the Whitsundays for a year with my husband in July 2003. It was there that I met Fae Lister, a well-known watercolour artist from Port Macquarie, who gave me several helpful tips and suggested that I become a member of Art Whitsundays. It was then that I started entering art exhibitions and even had a sole exhibition of around 60 odd paintings in April 2004 at the Prosperpine Museum. I also have had several commission jobs and sold around 20 paintings as a result. Upon my return to Sydney in July 2004, I attended art classes on life drawing and oil painting at the Royal Art Society in North Sydney. My watercolour entry "Coral at Eagle Cay" at the Art School Exhibition in Oct/Nov'04 received a commended award. I am also an exhibiting member of the Mosman Art Society. My contact number is 0414 425 484. my email mvrunt@yahoo.com.au

| Ernie Gerzabek |
|
Ernie is a contemporary landscape and abstract painter and
sculptor. He was born in Budapest, Hungary and came to Australia in 1958. He
started painting in 1970 while practising as a Chartered Architect. Following
his retirement in 1997 he started his full time art practice. He has a very broad range of artistic interests: painting, ceramics and sculpture, and thus cannot be pigeonholed into a single art form or ‘style’. Ernie's main inspiration is Nature and the unique landscapes of Australia: wilderness areas, wetlands, the unspoilt countryside, deserts, the ocean and seashores. He is interested in using environmentally friendly approaches and recently started using recycled materials creating bas-relief and three dimensional sculptures. Ernie tends to create playful, decorative and inspiring artworks, which are both optimistic and spiritually uplifting. He had more than 22 solo shows since 1999 -- in Sydney, Melbourne and regional New South Wales galleries. He also participated in countless group shows in municipal and commercial galleries and other venues. He is an exhibiting member of Ku-ring-gai, Mosman, North Shore Art Societies and The Sculptors Society. Apart from Australia, his works can be found in private collections all around the world, including USA, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Great Britain and other European countries.phone +61 2 9975 5527 websites

My interest in painting began at a very early age when my first teacher was the wonderful botanical artist, Wilfred Blunt(brother of the infamous Anthony!). My next teacher was Leonard Rosoman, who today, at 93, is the oldest living Royal Academician. My step-father, the late Sir Robin Darwin, was principal of the Royal Coillege of Art and my early life was spent surrounded by painters. Then life intervened... and work.... and other interests and I forgot everything I had learned! I enrolled in the North Shore School of Art in 2003 and started painting again, going on, in 2005 to take classes at the Julian Ashton. The journey continues...For the record I was Convenor of the Mosman Art Prize for 5 years from 1993 to 1998. I am currently the Vice-President of the Mosman Art Society and if anyone would like to contact me, my email address is mme@bigpond.net.au

| Gerald (Gerry) Christmas |
|
Gerald was born in England 1938 and at the age of 10 migrated to Sydney and was a lawyer for 40 years. Life as a partner in a busy city law firm and family responsibilities left little time for art work or painting. He retired in 1998 but his painting career began in earnest in 1995 when he went on a painting trip with a group of artists in the Kakadu country and was encouraged by people such as Norma Gibson, Robynne Palmer and Chick Gordon. The colours and contours of the magical landscapes captivated his interest and he has been painting and learning art ever since. He did various courses at Julian Ashton Art School and Kuring-gai Art Centre and has travelled with art groups into the Kimberleys and many times to Alice Springs and Queensland. He did courses at Bathurst Winter/Summer School, Mosman Evening College and has been tutored by Robina Booth at Seaforth. His favoured mediums are acrylic or gouache. When not travelling inland he enjoys the places and sights of Mosman and Balmoral where he paints regularly. His subjects include streetscape, still life and figures in addition to his first love, which is landscape. Since 2004, he has turned his attention to printmaking, particularly using collagraph and other etching tecniques. He has done courses with Bernhadine Mueller at Lane Cove and Susan Barran at Warringah Printmaking Workshop and has already found ready acceptance in a field which, for him, is new creative territory in addition to painting. Gerald has been Vice President of the Mosman Art Society for 6 years and in 2005 was elected President of that body. He exhibits his work, painting, collagraph prints and etchings regularly in Mosman Warringah and North Sydney. His work has been sold locally and overseas.Email geraldc@alpha.net.au

| John Grant |
|
John Grant studied at the National Art
School for three years and
had classes with John Coburn, John Passmore and William Salmon. He
then entered the world of advertising where he spent the next 35 years as an
art director, graphic artist and illustrator working with leading
advertising agencies and going freelance in the late 70’s after forming his
own company in 1971.
John returned to painting in the early
80’s after a long absence and opted to work in acrylics, although also
working in line and wash and pastels as well. His preferred subject is
landscapes but has recently been experimenting with still life subjects.
There is an intention to work more
prolifically and market his work in the future by entering exhibitions,
approaching certain galleries and encouraging commissions.
Aside from painting John, who works from
home, has run for the last eight years a ticket brokerage for people
travelling overseas and wish to see opera,
ballet, concerts and theatre. His experience and
knowledge in the classical music world has given him opportunities to write
CD reviews in the 2MBS Fine Music magazine and Limelight and opera
performances for Opera Now in London and The Australian Newspaper.

| Barbara McBurnie |

Artist, Barbara McBurnie of Mona Vale,
Sydney, brings her own style of excitement and vitality to her art.
Her love of the Australian outdoors is
reflected in the subjects she paints – beaches, landscapes, native plants,
birds, boating, abstracts and more recently oil paintings.
Barbara began her artistic career as a
potter, completing ceramic courses at Brookvale TAFE. The excitement of
under glaze colours painted on clay was the motivation to study watercolour
painting.
Today, Barbara paints in oils, acrylic
and water colour using the medium which best suits and reflects the mood of
her painting.
Barbara gives thanks to her teachers Val
Kemsley, Paul Warner, Frederick Bates, Molly Flaxman, Alvaro Castagnet,
Helen Goldsmith, David Taylor, Ross Paterson, Rex Newell, Ev Hales and
Joseph Zbukvic.
Barbara is a member of the following art
societies. – North Shore, Mosman, Artists & Craftsmen of Pittwater,
